Dust by Israel Anderson
There is a phrase in the Mishna* that says, "May you be covered in the dust of your rabbi." The idea was that if you followed behind your rabbi on the dusty roads, you would get covered in his dust. Meaning, you were following in his footsteps so closely, to be so much like him, that you are glorified to be covered with the dust he left behind. That is how close a disciple wanted to be to his rabbi. This is how close we want to be to our rabbi, Yeshua. I promise to be pretty controversial at times. I am not here to tickle itching ears, but to make a difference in people's lives through critical thought from a Kingdom perspective. Nothing is off limits as we delve into politics, current events and so much more. Join me.
*The Mishnah (Hebrew משנה, "repetition") is a major source of rabbinic Judaism's religious texts. We don't consider it an inspired work, but this phrase is just beautiful.

Dee Patton is a wife of 36 yrs, mother of 3 daughter and grandmother of four (so far), who also happens to be a writer, lyricist, vocalist, prayer warrior and career missionary.
Born in San Diego, California in 1953, she first felt a call of God toward full time missions at 11 yrs old. Later she became one of many teens and young adults involved in urban missions during what we now call the Jesus Movement of the late 60's and early 1970's. From witnessing door to door and serving in soup kitchens to pioneering a new generation of children's ministry - her heart has always been about communicating both the love and the heartbreak of God to the child like heart.
Since then she has continued to follow hard after God and to be a pioneer - always looking for ways to stay flexible and "available" for that next assignment. She is a published author, a song writer with songs on gold and platinum albums and has been a writer and creative consultant on children's properties bought by Marvel Productions and Hanna Barbera.
Currently she and her husband, Jim, live in East Texas where she works in Creative Services with the global charity, Mercy Ships. She also provides administrative support for youth evangelist Winkie Pratney, serves as an officer for Ministry of Helps and is a member of the vocal group, Bongo and the Point. She and husband, Jim, form a creative team, whose most recent writing/recording project, a rock opera called "The Selfish Giant" (based on a story by Oscar Wilde), is available on amazon.com, CD Baby, iTunes and Digstation.
